Yes. Engineer Factory is paid software: you need an account and a valid licence - monthly, yearly or once as Lifetime. Once you are signed in with a licensed account, you can download the installer via the download button or in your account. In the application you then sign in with the same account.
No. AI Mixing, AI Mastering and Mixing + Mastering are part of the DAW and included in every licence. There is no separate AI tier.
On up to three devices at the same time per account. You can release a device at any time in the application or in your account on this website - for example when you change computers.
Sign-in and licence checks need an internet connection. The licence is re-validated regularly; after a successful check you can also work offline for a limited period. Your audio is never uploaded.
Yes. In your account, under 'Cancel contracts here', it takes two clicks - no reason needed. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; until then everything stays active, and afterwards nothing more is charged. The Lifetime licence has no term and does not need cancelling.
In your account on this website: you see your plan and status, release devices, and find the download and your orders. Invoices and payment receipts arrive by e-mail from our payment provider Stripe.
VST3, with automatic latency compensation. VST2 and AU are not supported. On top of that, 17 built-in plug-ins are included.
Not yet. Audio devices currently run through Windows Audio (WASAPI) - including a low-latency mode - and DirectSound.
Your project stays safe. The audio engine runs separately from the interface: if a plug-in crashes, the window and your unsaved project stay open, and the engine restarts and names the plug-in that caused it.
Not yet. You can export WAV (16-bit, 24-bit or 32-bit float), FLAC and OGG Vorbis.
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), an audio device through Windows Audio (WASAPI) or DirectSound, and an internet connection for sign-in and licence checks. VST3 plug-ins are optional.
Not yet. Engineer Factory is currently available for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) only.
No. There are shortcut presets for Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase and FL Studio users, and every keyboard shortcut can be customised.
Yes. One track can control a plug-in on another - for example, the kick drives the compressor on the bass. The EF Compressor, EF Gate and EF De-Esser have a side-chain input, and the side-chain inputs of VST3 plug-ins are supported. The signal can be taken pre or post fader and stays in time.
N stands for Normalize: it matches the loudness before and after the plug-in. What the plug-in does to tone and dynamics stays - only the difference in volume is compensated, so you can judge the plug-in fairly.
Missing, unlicensed or faulty plug-ins are skipped without pop-ups, and your project still opens. A small status shows which plug-ins are unavailable, with an option to try again.
They are the three modes of the AI Engineer inside the DAW: MIXING for the mix, MASTERING for the master, and MIXING + MASTERING for both in one pass. In all three it measures, it suggests, and you decide what is applied.
CopyFX brings your vocal closer to the sound of a reference. You import a vocal stem or a full mix - from a full mix, the vocal is isolated automatically. CopyFX analyses tone, compression, de-essing, saturation, reverb, delay, stereo width and the vocal's place in the mix, shows how close your vocal is as a match in percent, and builds a plug-in chain with your own plug-ins where they fit, otherwise with the built-in ones. A strength slider sets how far it goes; you preview with A/B and apply it as one step you can undo. The most precise results come from a vocal stem - from a full mix, reverb and stereo width are harder to estimate.
No. The analysis runs on your computer, and your audio is never uploaded.
No. Nothing changes until you apply a suggestion. Every applied change is listed with its values before and after and can be undone on its own.
Yes. Load a reference track and compare it with your mix in an A/B at matched level. The AI Engineer can also compare your mix with the reference for you.
No. The DAW works fully without the AI Engineer: record, edit, mix, export. It is part of every licence - whether you use it is up to you.
